Both my pups have been groomed by Leigh for over a year now and honestly we wouldn’t go anywhere else! Having malamutes means a lot of upkeep with their fur and Leigh always makes them look beautiful and clean and she does an amazing job at getting their undercoat out. Simba and Nala absolutely love going to see her and she always shows them lots of love and attention. They would both 100% recommend her and so would we!

Leigh always does an amazing job grooming Bruce. He’s not the easiest having a double coat but he looks fantastic when she has worked her wonders. Highly recommended 5*

Wow … I am so happy to have found leigh .. I have a border collie who hates being groomed and I have struggled to find someone to take him on because he has issues with noises and really doesn't like the clippers or hairdryer .. Leigh today was wonderful .. she made him feel comfortable before even attempting to groom him .. there was no time scale and went at max pace .. I was sent photos n videos throughout his time there which has never happened before .. he was really happy when I collected him normally pulling me out of the gate but he was happy to stay and play with the ball .. I would totally recommend Leigh to groom ur dog .. not only was he happy he looks and smells wounderful 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 two very happy customers 😊😊

I haven’t learnt how to do reviews yet but I just want to say to anyone scrolling that I have 3 doodles and a maltipoo and I try and groom them myself as I am so fussy as my mutts are holistic and predominantly raw fed. I can honestly say the attention to detail and time taken to meet my wish’s and the results are the best I’ve ever seen from other groomers or definitely from my ones! I’ve already booked to come back Thank you Pleasant Groom 😀

Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

Grooming Process
The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers will take all reasonable care to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog during the grooming process.

There may be some circumstances, when the groomer may be unable to complete the groom as requested such as excessive matting, aggressive behaviour or medical issues arising during the grooming process. In such cases, the Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers will contact you to discuss options and any additional charges that may apply.
You, understand that even with the upmost care, minor nicks or scratches may occur during grooming. Particularly with matted fur or dogs that are restless.

The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers and its associates will not be held responsible for any loss of personal items during the appointment. Whilst every care is taken with the pets when being groomed, any pet left within the Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers is left entirely at the owner’s risk.
You must inform the groomer of any medical conditions and may be asked for a letter from your vet stating your pet is healthy to be groomed before the groom is carried out.

Matting
I / We understand that Matt (short for “matted fur”) refers to tangled clumps of fur in a dog’s coat. These occur when loose fur gets wrapped around itself and traps more fur over time. Here is what mats can do to a dog’s coat.
It can result in:
Discomfort and Pain: Mats can pull on a dog’s skin, causing irritation and pain.
Skin Problems: Mats trap moisture and prevent air circulation, creating a breeding ground for bacteria and fungus which can lead to infections underneath, which could be raw and inflamed. Matted coats will not dry properly and can lead to rotting fur and skin. Due to matting, your dog’s hair might need to be shaved extremely short to the skin. This may show signs of skin irritations and sores which has been caused by the matting and continually wet undercoat and dirty coat.
Hidden Issues: Mats can hide fleas, ticks, maggot’s, grass seeds and other skin problems making it harder to diagnose and treat them.
Body Heat Regulation Issues: A thick matted coat can make it difficult for a dog to regulate its body temperature, especially in hot weather.
The grooming required will be to ensure your pet is as comfortable as possible and ensure that your pet’s grooming experience is as stress free as possible. Due to the condition of your dog’s coat, it may be determined that the kindest and most humane option is to remove the dogs coat completely. This will be a short clip, removing all the matting. Where feasible, we will work to de-mat/ brush out the dog’s coat, but only when it would not cause excessive pain and suffering to attempt to do so.
As Groomers we follow The Animal Welfare Act (2006), which applies directly to matted fur situations.
Protection from Suffering: The Act states animals must be protected from pain, injury, suffering, and disease (Section 5). Since matted fur can cause discomfort, pain, and even skin infections, it falls under this protection.
Groomers’ Responsibility: Under the Act, groomers cannot perform procedures that cause unnecessary suffering. This includes spending hours painfully de-matting a severely neglected coat.
Shaving Might Be Necessary: If the matting is severe, the most humane option according to the Act might be to shave the coat entirely, even if the owner prefers otherwise.
Animal Welfare: The Act prioritizes the animal’s well-being. This means groomers may refuse service or recommend veterinary intervention for extreme matting cases
There is a strong chance that your pets skin will become irritated during the clipping process. We will use a sensitive shampoo to help soothe any irritation that may occur. The matted hair rest tightly against the skin, the only way of removing mats is to use a short blade to clip between the skin and the mats.
Your dog might be nicked and cut due to having to work so closely to the skin to remove the matted coat. We will be incredibly careful, but the possibility of injury does exist. Understanding these risks and by signing our check in form, The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers is authorized to proceed with the de-matting process.
We will be happy to show you how to care for your pet’s coat so that matting does not re-occur. We will also be happy to recommend the best equipment for you to use.
By completing our release form you hereby release The Pleasant Groom pet groomers any liability associated with the above-mentioned process and any/all medical problems that may be uncovered and/or occur during the stripping and de-matting process. Should your pet need veterinary care after or during the process, you agree to pay any/all associated veterinary fees. A charge for the removal of matts will be added to your fee starting from £20 due to the extra time and wear on our equipment.

Pregnant
I / we understand there are several reasons why grooming a pregnant dog might not be the best idea. Pets which are pregnant will not be accepted. The groomer has the right to refuse the groom if a dog is in season or has recently been mated.
This can cause Stress: Pregnancy can be stressful for dogs, and the unfamiliar environment, handling, and noises at a groomer’s can add to that stress. This stress can be harmful to both the mother and the puppies.
Limited Techniques: Groomers typically use restraint straps and some equipment like high-powered dryers that aren’t safe for pregnant dogs. This limits what they can effectively do during a grooming session.
Unpredictable Behaviour: Hormonal changes during pregnancy can make a dog act differently. They might be more irritable or anxious, making grooming difficult and potentially risky for both the dog and the groomer.
New Products: Groomers often use shampoos, conditioners, and other products that may not be safe for pregnant dogs. It is best to avoid introducing anything new during pregnancy unless your vet specifically approves it.

Please ensure that your pet has been given the opportunity to be relieved before they enter the grooming salon. This will ensure that they get the maximum enjoyment out of their groom. Please do not feed your pet within 30 minutes prior to their appointment. All customers are responsible for keeping their pet up to date with their vaccinations.

I / we understand that its recommend puppies wait two weeks after their second vaccination before booking a puppy groom.

I / We understand that The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers will not groom any dog that has been microchipped within the last 24 hours.

I / We understand that The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers and grooming team have the right to refuse to groom any pet without reason. The grooming team have the right to cancel a groom if it would affect the pet’s welfare to continue or there is a risk of injury to the grooming team.

The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers and grooming team will not groom any dog that is, or is crossed with, any of the dogs within the Dangerous Dog act 1991.
The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers will not groom any dog that must be registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, the Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act 1997 or any further amendments to this Act.

The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers may require two colleagues to groom. Their can be a number of reasons why it may be necessary for your dog to require two groomers to carry out a groom. If the behaviour of the dog warrants two groomers to carry out the groom, this will be charged per 30 minutes of time taken at £15. If it is to ensure the welfare of the dog (e.g. an older dog) and the groom requires two groomers, as with the above, this will be charged per 30 minutes of time taken at £15.

If your pet is found to have fleas, we will charge a fee of £15 in addition to the cost of the groom, where your pet will be bathed in a flea shampoo and the salon disinfected. If your pet is found to have a tick, we will charge a fee of £5 to remove in addition to the cost of the groom. However we advise if your pet has a tick to see your vet, as they are known carriers of disease and may require further treatment.

All appointments have set times, if the groom requires any extra time and additional fee of £25 per hour will be added.

Any pets that are deemed at the discretion of the grooming team to be in need of immediate veterinary attention, they will receive this. You agree that you will be liable for any resulting costs.

The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers, if any dogs that are aggressive towards a member of the grooming team or any other pet in the salon that may need to be muzzled. It is the owner’s responsibility to inform the groomer if they do not wish their pet to be muzzled. Refusal may result in the groom not taking place.

We strongly advise you insure your pet.

Whilst The Pleasant Groom Pet Groomers do take every reasonable precaution to prevent it, we will not accept any responsibility for any loss, injury, death or illness suffered by your pet whilst in our care, except to the extent that we are unable to limit or extend our liability. If your pet appears unwell at the time of the appointment, they will not be accepted for grooming due to the risk of cross infection to other pets.

Any complaints with regards to the Grooming salon must be directed, in first instance, to Leigh-Stacie, The owner on 07925247121.

All groomers in the salon are sole traders, and are self employed each having there own insurance.

Any pets not collected at the agreed collection time will incur an additional charge of £5 per 30 minutes they are in holding after the collection time stated on the grooming contract.
